Chris is originally from Marion, SC. He attended Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service and graduated in 1988 with a degree in Funeral Service. He worked in the funeral industry for 10 years and decided to open up his own funeral home. Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet was established on August 1, 2012 and has grown due to the dedicated and compassionate services we provide.
In 1990, Chris married his wife, Tangie and they currently reside in Murrells Inlet with their two four-legged babies, Natty and Harley. They have one daughter, Macy, who also works at the funeral home.
Chris is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of South Carolina and the state of North Carolina. He worked as a Deputy Coroner for Horry County and is currently a Deputy Coroner for Georgetown County. Together, he and his wife, Tangie are the owners and operators of Burroughs Funeral Home, Statewide Cremation Services and Pet Cremation Services of the Grand Strand.

Tangie grew up in Marion, SC. She married her husband, Chris in 1990 and together they own Burroughs Funeral Home and Pet Cremation Services of the Grand Strand.
Tangie attended Horry-Georgetown Technical Community College where she received her degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for many years and has been the owner and operator of Pet Cremation Services of the Grand Strand for the past 15 years.
She and Chris live in Murrells Inlet with their two four-legged babies, Natty and Harley. They have one daughter, Macy who also works at the funeral home.

Macy is the daughter of Chris and Tangie Burroughs. She graduated from St. James High School in Murrells Inlet, SC in 2010. After graduation from high school, Macy continued her education at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC, where she obtained an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service Education and is a licensed Funeral Director in the State of South Carolina. Macy plans to continue the vision her parents have pursued in providing compassionate care in the funeral industry.

Allison "Ally" Marino grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut and graduated from the Waterbury Arts Magnet School in 2007. Shortly thereafter, Ally began attending Lincoln College of New England (formerly Briarwood College,) in pursuit of her dream; helping people within our communities.
Ms. Marino brings several years of funeral service experience, and is young and eager to offer comfort, care and compassion as well as offer new perspectives on helping and aiding today’s generation through grieving processes.
Ally currently lives in Myrtle Beach. Her hobbies include watching movies, reading, visiting the beautiful beaches in the area, cooking, taking long walks and snuggling with her rescued kittens, Edgar & Poe.
Ally's goals for the future include; serving our families with the utmost care and respect, as well as obtaining her Certified Funeral Service Practitioner title through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practices, (this distinction is indicative of the completion of specified academic and professional programs that improve the standards of funeral practice)

Tony comes to us with 30 years of funeral service experience. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the states of South Carolina and Georgia, a certified CANA (Cremation Association of North America) crematory operator and one of our firm's Advanced Planning and Pre-Need Directors.
A native of Eastman, GA, Tony is a graduate of Dodge County High School. He is an Alumnus of Georgia Military College and a member of the 112th Corps of Cadets as well as a 1995 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA where he was a member of the Pi Sigma Eta Honors Fraternity.
Tony and his family moved to Murrells Inlet in 2011 from Alpharetta, GA where he worked as (SCI) General Manger for Roswell Funeral Home & Green Lawn Cemetery and Location Manager for SouthCare Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
He is a Master Mason and a member of Roswell Lodge #165, Roswell, GA, a York Rite Mason, a founding member of Royal Arch Chapter #74, Roswell, GA and is a member of The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP) where he is currently working on his Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) certification.
Tony is married to Charlene Cook Papel. They have twin boys, Andrew and Mason. Tony enjoys watching Georgia Bulldog's Football and Atlanta Brave's Baseball, kayaking, traveling, reading history and science fiction books, collecting watches and writing instruments.

Administrative Assistant
A native of Virginia and a USAF Veteran, Lisa moved to Murrells Inlet in 1999 with her children Shelby and Austin. She has worked in various industries along the Grand Strand and has a heart for serving people. Lisa and her husband Frank enjoy camping, backpacking, being grandparents and servant ministry.
