Celebrating the life of Douglas Eugene Proffitt
Thank you for signing Douglas Eugene Proffitt's Guestbook
My name is Alan Barker from WV and in 1969 thru 1972 I lived in Alexandria Va and came there to work for the railroad with Dougs cousin Clayton Clements. I was introduced to the whole Proffitt family and just fell in love with Hart and Tag and all of them. Doug and I used to play golf together and we had great times. Will always cherish these memories of those times with Joe, George and Fred and the girls Betty, Shirley and Caroline. My best to all the families there was no one like Doug.

My brother Doug was a just a kind, loving and generous person and the Best Brother a sister could ask for. I remember all our childhood memories growing up together, ur family was a large one, and we all loved and cared so much about each other. There just no words for the loss I feel, just so, so sad, but know that he is in Heaven and God will be taking care of him now, no more pain. Love and Miss you forever my dear brother.

Uncle Doug's memory will forever remain with me, he was the greatest Uncle one could ever ask for. God truly broke the mold when he gave our family this kind spirited, soft spoken and devoted family man. He lived a very humble life, honest hard working, he always gave generously and loved unconditionally. We will miss him dearly, he brought a sense of peace and calming to every conversation. May he rest peacefully in God's loving arms. Until we meet again Uncle, please hug my Dad for me .....I love you!

Loved Dougie like a brother......and as I said before if he had been in the Air Force he would have been Top Gun. My first foursome 50 years ago: Dougie, Joe Murphy, and Donnie Maddox and myself. We had a tremendous time together., Can still hear Dougie's laugh.
