Carl  Moog



Carl Francis Moog, 79, of Pawley’s Island, SC passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 53 years, Betty Alice Moog. He is also survived by his two loving sons, Brian and his wife, Jennifer, and their children Jake, Kate and Shea, all of Lawrenceville, NJ; and Glenn and his wife, Ariana, and their children Isla and Emila, all of Hoboken, NJ.

Carl was born and raised in Newark, NJ and was the son of Carl and Mary Moog, as well as stepmother Julia. He is also survived by his sister, Geraldine Dolinski, as well as predeceased by a step-brother, William Pierce. He was a proud graduate of Irvington High School’s Class of 1957.

Carl was a resident of Florham Park, NJ for 24 years, before retiring to Pawley’s Island in 2000. He took great pride in his commitment to his community for over 26 years, through his service as a police officer in Irvington, NJ and then a firefighter in Union, NJ.
He and his family loved spending their summers in Ortley Beach, NJ where they would go water skiing, boating and fishing. He also loved skiing, golfing and watching all types of sporting events. Carl will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, love of storytelling and for being a devoted and selfless husband and caretaker. His legacy will live on in the love, spirit and strength of his wife, children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Carl's life will be held on Friday February 16, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The family will greet friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
