Yvonne M. (Novak) Cartman

Yvonne M. Cartman, 79, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday April 25, 2026 while at NHC of Murrells Inlet. She was born on October 25, 1946 in Oceanside, New York to the late George Novak & Harriet Wherry Novak. Along with her parents, Yvonne is reunited in passing with her brother John Novak.

Yvonne was a hardworking woman with an eye for detail. She worked for the US government for many years in the Human Resources Department for the Town of Oyster Bay. In her free time and especially after her well-deserved retirement, Yvonne was able to enjoy the quiet life. She enjoyed reading, feeding her birds, gardening, shopping, and vacationing on cruises. Above all else, Yvonne relished time spent making memories with her family and close friends. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Yvonne’s memory are her adoring husband of over 61 years, Mr. Jay Cartman of Murrells Inlet; their son, Jeffrey of Surfside Beach; granddaughter, Kayla of Maine; daughter-in-law, Michele of Maine; brother, Dr. William Novak and his wife, Nilubon of Toledo, Ohio; sister-in-law Linda DiMisa and brother-in-law Harry DiMisa of Long Island, New York, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held on Thursday April 30, 2026 from 2PM until 4PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
