William Walter Zaiser, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on February 23, 1942 in Long Island, New York to the late William J. & Susan Zaiser.
Along with his parents, Bill is predeceased by his sister, Geraldine Vollaro.
Bill was a hardworking and dedicated man with a heart of gold. He proudly served as a Police Officer for over 27 years, until his well-deserved retirement from the Suffolk County Police Department. He was a proud member of the PBA and served as the treasurer. Following his relocation to Myrtle Beach, Bill was able to enjoy the finer things in life. In his free time, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his loving wife of over 62 years, Marilyn of Myrtle Beach; their children, William W. Zaiser, Jr. and wife, Rise of Somers, NY, Robert J. Zaiser and wife, Georgia of Far Hills, NJ, Diana Swartz and husband Robert of Nyack, NY, & Suzanne Zurcher and husband John of Elkins Park, PA; grandchildren, Amanda Coyne, Christina Blair (Randall), Carly Zurcher, William Zaiser, Michael Zaiser, Timothy Zurcher, Tyler Coyne, Andrew Zaiser, Emily Zurcher, Robert Zaiser, & Christopher Zaiser; as well as several nieces, and nephews; a large, loving extended family; and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Mass in Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, Cypress Ave. Garden City, SC 29576 with inurnment to immediately follow within the church columbarium on Friday, September 15 at 3 pm.
The family will gather to greet friends at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 on Thursday, September 14 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
