Vivian Nye De Los Santos, age 80, of North Carolina; passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025. Born on September 6, 1945, in Robeson County, North Carolina, Vivian lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to family, friends, and her community.
Vivian is survived by her sons of North Carolina and her grandchildren: Carolyn Floyd and her husband, David Stroud, Dylan Floyd, and Michael Floyd; as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Baylor Colon and Dean Colon. She also leaves behind her stepchildren: Marty Delossantos (Megan), Cynthia Poirier (Ray), Renny Delossantos, and Michael Delossantos (Tracy); her grandchildren Drake, Holden, Waden, Christian, and Cassidy; and her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mia, and Rylan.
Vivian shared her later years of her life with Mike Briggs- her loving companion, who brought joy, laughter, and love into every day. Mike’s love and devotion never wavered, and he remained faithfully by her side until her last breath. Her lifelong best friend, Lola Rouse, shared decades of friendship filled with shopping, cooking, decorating, and riding the roller coaster of life together.
She was preceded in death by Rene De Los Santos, the love of her life, with whom she shared countless adventures; her son, Ronnie Nye Floyd; her sister, Jane Johnson; and her parents, Ruby Nye and James Nye.
Vivian devoted her life to education, inspiring countless students with compassion, patience, and dedication. A lifelong learner, she earned her PhD, reflecting her love of knowledge and personal growth.
She found joy in simple pleasures—gardening, singing karaoke, spending time with friends, and caring for her beloved dog, Max. A talented cook, she was famous for her pound cake and apple pie. Vivian had a natural gift for bringing beauty into the world, whether through art, music, or meaningful conversations with loved ones.
Vivian’s spirit shone in both lively moments filled with laughter and music and quiet moments on the porch, reflecting her love for connection, peace, and joy.
Vivian will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Rene De Los Santos, at Florence National Cemetery. A private service will be held, with a memorial to be announced.
