Virginia Steele Sulo of Pawleys Island, SC, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on August 5, 1945, she was the daughter of Robert Henry Steele and Vivia Dobson Steele.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Samantha Hinson (née Huley Sulo)—who was adopted by Ginger and lovingly raised as her daughter—and Samantha’s husband, Andrew Hinson; her great-grandson, Lucas Hinson.
She is also survived by her nephew, Jegar K Houssell, and his wife, Laura Thompson Houssell (née Thompson); and her niece, Kirsten Houssell, and her husband, Daniel Fabrizi.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sulo; her son, Brian Huley, who passed away earlier this year; and her twin sister, Sandra Steele Houssell, and Sandra’s husband William R. Houssell.
Ginger was a lifelong lover of dogs and cats, who brought her comfort, companionship, and joy throughout her life. Animals were always close to her heart and home.
She was a woman of deep kindness, and remarkable creativity. One of her greatest passions was sewing—a craft she turned into an expression of love. With needle and thread, she created more than quilts and clothing; she stitched care, patience, and beauty into everything she made.
Her legacy lives on in the things she made, the lives she touched, and the love she so carefully stitched into the world.
She is deeply loved and will be sorely missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
