Virginia Adair Hutchinson

Virginia “Timmy” Adair Hutchinson, 92, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at her residence. She was born December 26, 1930, in York, PA, daughter of the late, James and Mabel Bailey Hutchinson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Vivian G. Sanders of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, and Norma H. Clemons of Jackson, Michigan.

She is survived by two nieces, Patricia Sanders Perez of Durango, Colorado, and Virginia Morrissey of New Jersey; as well as five nephews, Barron Clemons of Austin, Texas, Scott Clemons of Austin, Texas, William Sanders of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harry Sanders of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and James Sanders of Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Virginia worked as secretary for the Army Ordnance in Yokohama, Japan from 1953-1955. After working there, she worked for the Capitol Engineering Corporation in Saigon, Vietnam from 1957-1959. She then went on to work for the Fox Pool Corporation (Wexco Incorporated), where she became the Chairman and Corporate Secretary. She retired from there in 1995, after twenty-seven years of dedicated service.

Virginia was a former member of West Poplar Street Church of God, where she served as deacon and elder assistant. She also was the church secretary and member of the Pyramid Class at the church. Most recently she was a member of Belin United Methodist Church, in Murrells Inlet. SC. For over seventy years, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority (Epsilon Master Chapter), was a former member of the Grandview Ladies Golf Association, and currently a member of the Blackmoor Golf Club and Ladies Association.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at a later date.

The family has requested that memorial donations in Virginia’s name be made to the Garden Fund at Belin United Methodist, 4182 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
