Vincent “Vinny” Joseph Cattalo, 71, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025. He was born July 7, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late, Vincent A. Cattalo and Catherine Lakotos Cattalo.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cattalo.
He is survived by one brother, Peter Cattalo of Springfield, PA; two sisters, Barbara Cattalo of Murrells Inlet, SC and Claire Cattalo of Springfield, PA; nieces, Alexandra Rogers, and Christina Peralta; a nephew, William Cox, Jr. and his wife, Michele; five great nieces and one great nephew.
Vinny was deeply devoted to the blessed Mother. His most prized story was when dear friend, Bishop DeSimone called him “the walking Catholic Encyclopedia.” He was a good soul, extremely generous, and truly loved people whom he would welcome with open arms. He was very proud of being born in South Philadelphia, where he was a lifelong resident. Above all he loved life, his Catholic faith, his friends and his family--a wonderful example of a life well-lived and deeply loved.
A funeral mass will be held 2:00pm Thursday, July 24, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Avenue, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Burial will immediately follow at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery, 2408 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
