Victor Lewis Obituary

Victor S. Lewis, 81, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday June 27, 2022 at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on December 11, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Ida & Victor S. Lewis, Sr.

Along with his parents, Victor is reunited in passing with his beloved wife of over 37 years, Eileen Lewis; daughter, Denise Schultze; and sister, Mary Lou Janocha.

Victor proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a skilled master tank gunner who earned his Good Conduct medal. Following his honorable discharge, Victor went on to earn a master's degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University and began work as a business consultant for various entities. In his younger years, Victor could always be found teaching his son Paul about working on cars. Also, Sunday family drives anywhere and finding their way back was a treasured time together.  He was a highly intelligent man and a member of Mensa International. Victor and his wife relocated to Myrtle Beach in 2004, where Victor continued to dedicate his time and efforts to Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a steadfast advocate and responsible sponsor for so many over the years. Victor’s accepting personality made it so he never met a stranger. He was quick to offer a listening ear or kind word of advice. Victor had great faith and knew his source was God, he was happy to share his beliefs at any time. In his free time, Victor could be found in his garden with the sun warm upon his back. He relished time painting and creating art, much of which he had gifted to friends and family. Victor's house was always filled with an eclectic taste in music, he loved playing card games, especially Solitaire and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Above all else, Victor loved his family with his whole heart. Victor was not a man of many words, his words were always sincere, thoughtful, and intentional. Victor's eyes revealed his kind and compassionate soul. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his compassion, commitment to serving others, quick wit and the great depth and breadth of the love he had for his family.

Left to cherish Victor’s memory are his children, Karen Hasara and husband Carl, Paul Drozdowski, Victoria Krupa, & Rebecca Hayes; grandchildren, Lauren, Nicole, Ryan, Ava, Aidan, & Hudson; great-grandchildren, Collin, Rylan, Ethan, Will, Gabriel, & Harper; his adoring k9 fur-babies, Girlie & Puddin; all the friends of Bill W; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

The family will gather to greet friends at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 on Friday July 1, 2022 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM.
