Troy Connett, 50, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2026 at his residence. Troy was born in Columbus, Ohio and a true Buckeye!
Troy graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in Gahanna, Ohio then completed his Political Science degree from The Ohio State University. He began his career with BISYS Fund Services where he had multiple roles such as Investor Service Associate, Senior TA Broker, Blue Sky Compliance analyst, and ultimately Portfolio Compliance analyst. After moving to Ashland, Ky, Troy began working with Fifth Third Securities in Huntington West Virginia as a platform program coordinator. He then joined Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital as a financial analyst before later becoming the director of finance for Bellefonte Physician Services. He finished his career at Kings Daughter's Medical Center as the manager of business operations. Troy was dedicated and passionate about not only the work he performed, but also the people he worked beside. With resilience and integrity, Troy ultimately retired to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
Troy's unbridled passion and love for life extended far beyond his career. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, Dallas Cowboys, Columbus BlueJackets, Celtic Soccer, and golf. His infectious smile and laugh was felt by everyone in his presence. Above all, he fiercely loved and protected his family.
Troy is survived by his wife of 19 years, Dr. Carrie Connett; his mother Kathy Connett; his father George ( Michele) Connett; his twin brother Todd Connett; his sisters Kim (Jack Hutchinson) Connett and Kelly Mercy; his nephews Kyle Mercy, Brandon (Anna) Howard, George Hieneman and Matthew( Brittany) Howard; his nieces Kayla Mercy and Stella Hieneman; and a host of extended family and cherished friends from all walks of life.
Troy certainly had a life well- lived that ended entirely too soon but will be in our hearts forever.
At this time, no services are planned. There will be private services for spreading of his ashes at his request.
