Tressie B. (Bowen) Faidley

Tressie B. Faidley, 93, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday August 10, 2025 while at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on June 24, 1932 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Charles William & Mary Frances Morris Bowen.

Along with her parents, Tressie is reunited in passing with her beloved husband of over 68 years, Alvin "Al" Faidley, Jr.; her brother, Charles Bowen; sister, Frances Sprouse; and niece, Mary Lynne Holley.

Tressie was a skilled secretary with an eye for order and organization. She was an active member of Surfside United Methodist Church where she worked as a secretary for many years and where she made life-long friends. In her free time, Tressie enjoyed watching the nightly news on Fox and enjoying her quiet life. She had a servant’s heart that led her to preaching at church on Sundays. Above all else, Tressie loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Tressie's memory are her daughter, Lisa Floyd and her husband, Dean; son, John Faidley and his wife, Stephanie; the apple of her eye, her granddaughters, Peyton Cox & Brooke Floyd; grandson, Jordan Floyd; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Tressie's life will be held at 4PM on Saturday August 16, 2025 at Surfside United Methodist Church Columbarium, 800 13th Ave N, Surfside Beach, SC 29575. The family will gather to greet friends within the fellowship hall from 3PM until the time of service.  

At the request of Tressie’s family, please consider memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. Memorials in Tressie’s name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
