Timothy Bartley Mandroc, 77, of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, formerly of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born on March 6, 1949, at Cambria County Hospital in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Francis R. and Geraldine A. Mandroc.
Tim was, in every sense, larger than life. His laugh was contagious and his stories were legendary. He had a gift to strike up a conversation with anyone and leave with a new friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Melanie; his son Jason (Jessica) of Bel Air, Maryland, and their children Colette and Claire; French bulldog Cosette; his daughter Leslie; his sister Melanie Lamb of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews who were lucky enough to be in his orbit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bonnie Rother, and his cherished French bulldog, Beauregard.
Tim's career was as full as his personality. He began as an adult probation supervisor for Chester County, Pennsylvania before transitioning to a distinguished 40-year career as an industrial sales engineer. He retired fully to the place he loved most: the sun, the salt air, and the slower pace of life in beautiful Pawleys Island.
Golf was more than a hobby; it was a way of life. Tim was a proud member of the men’s club at Tradition, as well as golf groups, the Humps and Gold Tees. An engaged HOA board member, Tim built friendships on and off the fairway that lasted a lifetime. He loved boating, fishing, and time at the beach. Summers at the Jersey Shore were sacred. Philadelphia sports were non-negotiable. High school and college football and baseball were a passion, one he proudly passed down by coaching his son Jason through the years, showing up at every game with the same enthusiasm he brought to everything he touched.
But if you asked Tim what mattered most, the answer was simple: family. Jason was his entire world, and his grandchildren brought him a joy that went beyond words. He was a devoted husband, a deeply loyal friend, and a man who loved animals with his whole heart.
He also happened to love good food, especially anything from the sea, and could turn a meal into a memory with the right story and the right company.
A private gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tim's name to All4Paws Animal Rescue in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, a cause that reflects the man he was to his core.
Tim Mandroc brought joy everywhere he went. The world was louder and brighter with him in it, and quieter now than it has any right to be.
