Thomas Frederick Pritchard, Jr.

Thomas Frederick Pritchard, Jr., 81, known by family and friends by Timmy, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday November 12, 2021 at his home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on January 27, 1940 in Stamford, Connecticut, where his family has resided since the 1860’s. Tim was the son of the late Thomas F. Pritchard, Sr., & Helen Algren Pritchard.

Tim was an incredibly hardworking man with a heart of gold. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, Tim went to work as an owner of a bread distribution company. He would gladly donate baked goods and bread to the many churches in the area for decades. In his free time, Tim was a member of the Stamford CT Elks Lodge, No. 899, the Springdale Athletic Club as well as the Glenbrook Athletic Club. Tim’s strong work ethic was evident in all he did. He was a generous man who would gladly offer the shirt from his back to anyone in need. Tim and his wife moved to Murrells Inlet within the last year, to enjoy their retirement. Above all else, Tim loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his quick wit, bright smile and vibrant personality.

Left to cherish Tim’s memory are his adoring wife of over 56 years, Mrs. Marilyn J. Pritchard of Murrells Inlet; their children, Tabatha L. Miliaresis and husband, Don & Thomas F. Pritchard, III  and wife, Barbara all of Stamford, CT; seven grandchildren, Robert, Andrew, Aristidi, James, Maranda, Miliaresis, Elena & Elijah Pritchard; sister, Judith Schwartz; niece/ God-daughter, Traci Schwartz; nephews, Mark & Christian Prince; as well as a large loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation, the kindness, care and compassion shown to them during this difficult time. A special thank you to Murrells Inlet Fire Department for their tireless efforts and assistance. May God bless you all.

A Celebration of Tim’s life will be held in Connecticut at a later date. Those details will be announced when finalized.
