Teresa Wade Powers Obituary

Teresa Lane Wade Powers was born in Loudon, TN, on April 10th, 1955, on Easter Sunday and was the oldest of five children. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, James Ross Lane, Jr. and Emma Ruth Edmonds Lane, of Lenoir City, TN, and her sister, Tanya Kaye Lane, of Myrtle Beach, SC. Teresa is survived by sisters, Jeani Lane (Stanley Matthews) of Pikeville, TN, Nancy Wiltshire (Michael) of Camden, SC, and brother, James Ross Lane, III (Tammy) of Loudon, TN. Teresa leaves behind her doting and faithful husband, Michael Powers, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and will meet in Heaven her first husband, Billy Ray Wade, of Lenoir City, TN, and two sweet grandbabies, Micah and Benjamin. Teresa also leaves behind two loving daughters, Haley Wade DiGregorio (Fred) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Codi Wade Parham of Colbert, GA, as well as nine grandchildren: Isaac Parham, Will Parham, and Gabe Parham of Colbert, GA, Kelsey Strang (Evan) of Grovetown, GA, Emily DiGregorio, Laney DiGregorio, Victoria DiGregorio, and Andrew DiGregorio of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rachelle Lane of Loudon, TN, several beloved nieces and nephews, and three cherished dogs, Destiny, Murray, and Sissy.

Teresa raised her children in her hometown of Lenoir City, TN, but always had a dream of living in Myrtle Beach due to her fond memories of family camping trips and vacations growing up. When she was finally able to do so, she worked for ten years as a waitress in Surfside Beach, SC. Teresa then retired and spent the next fifteen years living near her kids in TN and GA before moving back to Myrtle Beach in 2017.

Her passion was always her large family. She spent her life fostering a deep sense of love and devotion to them that will endure forever.

Teresa will be honored in a private family ceremony and her remains will be incorporated into a tree that will stand as a fitting memorial to the life she lived. A larger celebration of her life can be planned for her many loved ones after the dangers of the pandemic have passed.
