The world lost a smiling face, generous heart, an incredible laugh and the life of any party- Suzanne Martin, 58, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday June 18, 2020. Suzanne was a Navy military child, born in Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA on July 15, 1961 to the late Freeman “Freddie” & Edna (Thompkins) Martin.
Along with her parents, Suzanne is reunited in death with her infant son, Michael Carlino.
A lifelong Conway resident, Suzanne graduated Conway High School class of 1979 who affectionately referred to themselves as the Big Time 79. She worked at the Giant Crab for many years where her outgoing personality and smile enabled her to make friends there, and wherever she went. Suzanne was a natural caregiver. She took pride in helping those in need and being present when her family needed her most. In her free time, Suzanne loved spending time at the river her on father’s pontoon boat and, feeling the freedom and wind in her hair while on the back of a motorcycle. Suzanne also enjoyed dancing, telling stories and making memories with those around her. Above all else, Suzanne loved her family with her whole heart. She will forever be remembered as a, “goof ball,” who loved to love, and have a good time. Her infectious laughter, quick wit and great sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of getting to know her.
Left to cherish Suzanne’s memory are her daughters, Alexis Carlino of Boone, NC & Shannon Carlino of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Eli & Issac Carlino; sister, Gail Palmer of Conway; niece, Alicia Palmer of Conway; nephews, Robert Palmer of Conway, Shaun Martin and Grayden Martin all of Conway; great-niece, Ashlynn “Boo”; great-nephews, Dylan, Gage, & Asheten; aunt, Patricia “Pat” Sanders of Gresham; first-cousins, Lisa Clark & Robbie Haselden as well as many cousins; a large, loving, extended, family and many supportive friends and neighbors
A Celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration for contributions be made to offset the final expenses. Contributions may be sent/payable to Suzanne's daughter, Alexis Carlino.
