Susan M. Halpern

Susan Halpern, 69, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on July 7, 1951 in Norwalk, CT to the late Alphonse and Florence Iannacone. 

In addition to her parents, Sue is reunited in death with her husband, Barry Mark Halpern, Sr. and her son, Lee Halpern.

In 2004, Sue and Barry moved to Murrells Inlet from Connecticut.  She joined and became an active member of Legacy Church.  She had a love for helping others.  For many years, she participated with her daughter in the Tidelands Health Breast Cancer Walk where she was also a past Honoree.  Sue enjoyed traveling and scrapbooking, but most importantly, she enjoyed creating memories with her family. 

Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her daughter, Stacey Halpern; son, Barry Mark Halpern, Jr. (wife, Shannon); grandchildren, Jaxon, MJ, Luke, Brinley, and Bronx.  She is also survived by her brother, Robert Iannacone (wife, Kimberly); niece, Kellie Iannacone; and nephew, Zach Iannacone.

A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Legacy Church, 3705 Forestbrook Rd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service (1:00 until 2:00 p.m.) at the church.
