Susan F Desmond

Susan F. Desmond, 79, of Murrells Inlet SC, formerly of Colonial Beach VA passed away on Sunday, December 28,2025. Susan was born on July 24, 1946, in Weymouth MA to Walter and Frances Morgan of Abington MA.

Susan was an avid golfer and world traveler. As a Navy wife she lived, worked and raised her children in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Japan, Hawaii, California and Virginia.  She was active in the Church of the Resurrection and the Daughters of the King in Surfside Beach SC.

Susan is survived by her husband of 60 years, David. She was the mother of Michelle (Desmond) Hankins and her husband Chris of Fauquier County VA and Lisa (Desmond) Demont and her husband Tod of Lutz FL. She was the beloved grandmother of Joshua and Jeremy Hankins and Aaron and Jacob Demont as well as nine great grandchildren.

Her siblings included Richard Morgan of Athens GA, Kathleen Morgan of Fredericksburg VA, Nancy Tyler of Westmoreland County VA, and Robin McCarthy of Freeport ME.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, the National Autism Foundation or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Friends and family are invited to attend a 10 AM memorial service and luncheon at the Church of the Resurrection in Surfside Beach on January 10, 2026.
