Sue Tison

“Sue Tison, 59, of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, passed away on August 14, 2025. Her passing was unexpected and leaves her family and friends deeply saddened.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Sue made Pawleys Island her home for more than 30 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. 

Sue spent her career as a registered nurse, dedicating her life to caring for others with compassion, resilience, and strength. She graduated with honors from Indiana University and later went on to earn her master’s degree in nursing and was in the final year of her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, a remarkable achievement she pursued while raising her children and working full time. To all who knew her, Sue was an example of dedication, perseverance, and service. 

Sue found her greatest joy in her children and her grandson, Gentry. She also cherished the companionship of her two dogs, Ruby and Dobby, who were constant sources of comfort and happiness.

She is survived by her five children, daughter Taylor Tison Gianelli and son-in-law Jake, daughters Trinity, Tara, and Thierrette, and her son, Timber. She was a proud and adoring ”Gigi” to her grandson Gentry Tison Gianelli, who brought endless joy to her life. Sue is also survived by her loving mother, Gail Languell, and her brother, Paul Languell.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on September 13, 2025 at All Saints Church, 3560 Kings River Rd, Pawleys Island SC 29585.
