Stewart Dale Sturgeon, Sr.

Stewart Dale Sturgeon, Sr., 60, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday February 17, 2020 at Conway Medical Center. He was born on February 20, 1959 in Latta, South Carolina to the late Johnnie Miles Sturgeon & Sally Gertrude (Owens) Sturgeon.

Stewart was a hardworking man with a heart of gold. He was best known to his friends and family as, “Buzzy.” A skilled automobile mechanic, Buzzy loved working with his hands. In his free time, he loved fishing, watching drag racing and felt at home with the smell of asphalt. Above all else, Buzzy loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Buzzy’s memory are his sons, McIver “Mac” Sturgeon, Sr. and his wife, Karla of Timmonsville, SC, Stewart “Dale” Sturgeon, Jr and his wife, Amanda of Florence, & John Sturgeon of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, McIver “Owen” Sturgeon, Jr., Andrew Beavers, Skylar Sturgeon, Kara Beavers, Anthony Madurski, & McKenna Sturgeon; brothers, Billy Sturgeon, Scott Sturgeon, Charlie Sturgeon, & Joey Surgeon; sisters, Gail Cartrette & Jean Cook and her husband, Joe Cook; as well as several nieces, nephews & cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Buzzy’s life will be held privately.
