Shirley Jean Traveny

Shirley Jean Traveny, 79, of Murrells Inlet, SC, and formerly of Ebensburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Shirley Jean Traveny was born in Spangler, PA on March 11, 1946, to the late John Shilling and Mary Weakland. Shirley is preceded in passing by her husband, Emil Traveny; daughter, Christa Dunchuck; son, Darren Traveny; sisters, Betty, Catherine, Dorothy, and Barb; and brothers Ralph, Leonard and John.

Left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her son, Emil Traveny (Jodi) of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Meredith Zeller (Bill); son-in-law, Mark Dunchuck; granddaughters, Haley, Allison, Kylee, Crystal, Kathryn, and Brandi; great grandchildren, Christian, Asher, Khloe, Karly, Jiamani, and Shai; sisters, Nancy Solnosky of PA, Helen Taylor of OH, and Donna Thomas of PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley is truly going to be missed by her family and friends.

Shirley owned her own beauty shop and enjoyed being a beautician, she also enjoyed doing cosmetology. Shirley loved being in the kitchen cooking for her family. She enjoyed making flower arrangements and loved shopping and listening to music. Shirley also was very thorough at cleaning.

Services are scheduled for Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Visitation to follow service.
