Obituary
Shirley D. Algier LaMar, age 87, of Murrells Inlet, SC and formerly of York New Salem, PA, passed away peacefully Wednesday August 3, 2022.
Shirley was born on May 5, 1935, in New Britain, CT, the daughter of the late Mary and Henry Algier. Shirley enjoyed gardening, playing golf, and entertaining her many friends and family. In addition to her parents Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy E. LaMar.
Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Henry E. LaMar of Murrells Inlet; daughter, Kimberly Bentzel and her husband Mark; granddaughter, Maxine L. Streicher and her husband Sean; grandson, Mason L. Bentzel and his wife Melanie and great grandson, Macklin Streicher and future baby Bentzel due in February 2023.
A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
