Sandra Scott

Sandra “Sue” Cook Scott, 72, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at National Health Care, Garden City. She was born in Berwind, West Virginia in March 15,1947 to Lionel Keith Cook and Clarice Mildred (Bird) Cook.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Wayne Cook and her sister, Joyce Cook Young. She was also preceded by her infant nephew, Phillip Neil Cook and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving are her husband Thomas E. Scott of Murrells Inlet, SC, her daughters Michelle Lynn Scott of Wesley Chapel, FL and Lori Nicole Scott (Christian Mielnik) of Pittsburgh, PA. Her granddaughters Lindsay Nicole McLamb, Caitlin Mary McLamb of Durham, NC and Emily Nicole Mielnik of Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to her daughters are her two nieces she is survived by Heather Dawn Cook of Wilmington, NC and Jessica Young Nigh of Martinsville, VA. (Bryan) 2 great-nieces Madelynn Olivia Nigh and Natalie Rose Cook and 1 great-nephew, Jamison Rylee Nigh. Mrs. Scott is also survived by her sister-in-law, Anne See of Harrisonburg, VA .

Mrs. Scott received her degree in Business Administration from National Business College. She worked for several years with Norfolk & Western in Roanoke, VA. She continued her employment with Verizon in Tampa FL where she lived for a number of years until she retired. 

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, January 22 at 2:00 PM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA.
