Sandra Grabowski Obituary

Sandra Ann Grabowski, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 13, 2026. She was born on September 27, 1948, in Orange, New Jersey.

She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, Ralph Mielke Sr. and Dorothy Mielke, her beloved husband, Brian Grabowski, and her brother, Ralph Mielke Jr., all of whom passed before her.  As well as her beloved cherished canine companion, Annie.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory close: her daughters, Gretchen Schleck and her husband Kurt Schleck, and Sara Felker and her husband Norm Felker; her brother, Randy Mielke; and her grandchildren—Sebastian Schleck, Spencer Schleck, Wyatt Felker, and Alexis Felker—who affectionately knew her as “Gigi.” Her grandchildren treasured every moment spent with their Gigi and will miss her deeply.

Sandra grew up in West Orange, New Jersey. She later married her soulmate, Brian, and together they made their home in Caldwell, New Jersey, where they raised their daughters. After retiring, Sandra embraced a new chapter in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, where she built a warm and joyful life.

Sandra was known for her vibrant spirit and the way she made every room feel lighter just by walking into it. She had a quick wit, a warm laugh, and a natural ability to make others feel welcome. She found joy in cooking—experimenting with new recipes, savoring good wine, and losing herself in her favorite cooking shows. She also loved shopping, whether searching for fresh ingredients or discovering small treasures that brightened her day.

Most of all, Sandra cherished time spent with her family and her wide, supportive circle of friends. She delighted in dinners out, lively happy hours, card games, laughter, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by people she loved. Her kindness, loyalty, and genuine interest in others made her someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Sandra’s legacy is one of love, laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in both New Jersey and South Carolina at a later date.
