Ross "Bill" William Shatto, III

Ross William Shatto, Ill (Bill), 72, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 3, 2023. He was born on January 29, 1951, in DuBois, PA, to the late Ross W. Shatto, Jr. and JoAnn M. Shatto.

Bill was a graduate of Camp Hill High School, Camp Hill, PA, class of 1968, and Pennsylvania State University.

Bill worked in information technology at Book-of-the-Month Club, Mechanicsburg, PA, for many years. In 1987, he moved to New York City to take a job with Time Books Group, from which he retired as vice- president of marketing in 2001.

Since 2010, Bill spent most of his time in Surfside Beach and Murrells Inlet, SC.  He was an avid photographer and trivia player.  He enjoyed live music and good food.  Bill was intellectually curious and had a great sense of humor.  He made countless friends wherever he lived and will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his brother, Dennis J. Shatto (Susan) of New Cumberland, PA; his sister, Shelley E. Hertzler (Christopher) of San Jose, CA; nieces, Dr. Sarah L. Keller (Daniel) of Meridian, ID and Leigh Ann Devlin (Paul) of Camp Hill, PA ; and a grandniece, Holly C. Devlin, of Camp Hill, PA.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held from 1:00-3:00PM Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Hot Fish Club, 4911 Business US-17, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
