Rosemary Stoddard , 63, of Conway, SC passed away Monday, Dec 8th surrounded by the immense love of her family. She was known by all who loved her as a woman of extraordinary strength, courage and determination.
In 2023, Rosemary was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. She refused to let this disease define her. Even on her hardest days, she pushed forward with a positive attitude that inspired everyone around her. She met every challenge head-on, proving time and time again just how strong she was. She completed her transplant prehab with a fierce dedication, because she believed in fighting for every moment with the people she loved. Unfortunately, her time was still cut short.
Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, John and Rosemary Murphy, her in-laws Dale and Mona Stoddard, her sister in-law Terri Stoddard, her sister in-law, Maggie Menegay, and her brother in-law Dale Stoddard.
She leaves behind her whole world: her husband of 39 years, David Stoddard, and her pride and joy, her daughter Jessica and her partner Josh of Massachusetts. She leaves her big sister, Debbielee Menegay, and her big brother and sister in -law, Kevin and Christine Stewart. In addition, she is survived by sister in-law Bunny and Jim of South Carolina, brother in-law Danny Stoddard and Dawn of Wisconsin, brother in-law Daryl Stoddard and Beth of Tennessee, sister in-law Lynn Patterson and Chris of Massachusetts, sister in-law Lisa Stoddard of Massachusetts, and brother in-law Christopher Stoddard and Kristina of Massachusetts, an Aunt and Uncle she held so close to her heart, Danny and Ann Visceto of Massachusetts. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, her cherished Lung Family that supported her through this entire journey, and an amazing group of friends that she loved deeply.
Rosemary was born in Worcester, MA in 1962. She grew up in Brookfield, where she lived until 1993 when she relocated to Oxford. She lived there until 2015 when she moved to Conway. She graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School in 1980, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Worcester State College in 1984. She wore many hats throughout her life, but the ones she loved the most were her days at Fallon/Reliant with her favorite ladies, and most recently at SAU Insurance where she built some incredible bonds. Rosemary enjoyed nothing more in life than surrounding herself with the ones she loved. She loved camping, especially at Papoose Pond she liked the beach, she recently picked up crocheting, and she loved every movie the Hallmark Channel has ever released, but what she really loved the most was her family and friends.
Rosemary will be remembered not only for her courage, and bravery, but for her warmth, her resilience, and the quiet strength she had within that carried her through a journey that would have broken a lesser spirit. We will forever hold her close in our hearts.
