Our beautiful mother, Rosemary Elliott, passed peacefully into God’s loving arms on March 23rd, 2026, after living and loving on this earth for 100 years and 5 months. Rosemary joins her husband Gordon (Mike) Elliott, parents Frank and Anne Mallon, sister Margie Mills, brothers Tom Mallon, Frank Mallon, Ed Mallon and Bobby Mallon, son Daniel Elliott, and grandson Mitchel Darnton with the angels in heaven. She is survived by her children Karen (Dick) Darnton, Mike (Terri) Elliott, Maureen Carruthers, Linda Elliott, Judy (Garry) Arbuckle, David Elliott, her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary grew up in Detroit, Michigan where she attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School. She worked for Ford Motor Company as an Executive Secretary before marrying the love of her life, Mike Elliott. Rosemary and Mike had sixty-nine wonderful years of marriage and made an incredible team raising a family of seven children together. Mom was a beautiful soul with the most kind and generous spirit. She had a wonderful sense of humor (the Irish in her), a passionate love of music and an incredible capacity for joy. She had a great appreciation for life, always choosing to see the beauty in everything. Although she had memory issues in her later years, Mom could recite poetry she learned over 70 years ago and remembered all the lyrics to many wonderful old songs. We are deeply grateful for all the beautiful moments we were blessed to share with her, and for the love she has passed on to all of us. Her children and grandchildren will always remember what a kind and loving person she was.
We love you Mom! Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and mother, for all the sacrifices you made for us, and for all the unconditional love and guidance. Rest in peace in God’s grace! Now you are living one of your favorite songs (Ray Charles version of course), ‘… like that lucky old sun, got nothin’ to do, but roll around heaven all day!’
Rosemary was grateful to God for all her blessings and was a big believer in helping others. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to one of Rosemary’s favorite charities – St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be planned by the family at a later date.
