Ronald "Ronnie" Best Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” J. Best, 59 passed away unexpectedly at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Saturday March 28, 2020.  He was born on March 21, 1961 in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late Wallace & Juanita (Yates) Best.

Along with his parents, Ronnie is reunited with his niece, Kelli Best; his aunt and uncle, Minnie and Buck White; his grandmother, Flora Yates (Nanny); his brother-in-law, Bryan Benninghoff; and his father-in-law, Bill Benninghoff.

Ronnie was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School class of 1979, and Horry Georgetown Tech, where he received an associates degree in Business.  Ronnie began his career with Brendle’s; went on to open his own custom frame shop (Best Frames Plus); and for the past several years has been a proud member of the Bass Pro Shop team where his skill and dedication to the store allowed him to travel the country assisting other stores with their Grand Openings.  Ronnie enjoyed his work and loved his Bass Pro Shop family.  He had a passion and enthusiasm for fire arms, boating, and fishing.  Ronnie enjoyed playing golf, but mostly he enjoyed making memories with his family and friends and was a proud and active member of the Coast of Carolina Parrothead Club where he participated in activities, trips, and the many fundraisers the club has each year.

He will forever be remembered as an amazing husband, father, grandfather (Papa), brother, uncle, and friend.

Left to cherish Ronnie’s memory are his beloved wife of 38 years and his high school sweetheart, Christina “Christi” Benninghoff Best of Myrtle Beach; their daughter, Shannon  Bullock and her husband David of Conway; his adoring granddaughter, Olivia “Livi” Bullock; brother Reid Best and his wife, Susie of Wilmington, NC; sister, Linda Kliewer of Wake Forest, NC; cousins, Larry Best of Raleigh, NC; Faye Glover, her husband Dallas, and their son Troy of Youngsville, NC; his Bass Pro Shop family, and many supportive Friends and neighbors.
