Ronald "Ron" Marrs Obituary

Ronald “Ron” F. Marrs, 70, of Surfside Beach, SC passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. He was born May 28, 1950 in Memphis, TN son of the late William Blackwell Marrs and Hazel Ruth Johnston Marrs.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Suong Thi Mayhew/McCoy.

Ron is survived by a son, Allen A. Marrs.

Ron was a decorated member and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. Among the many awards, medals and accommodations Ron received the Bronze Star for his heroic actions while serving in Vietnam.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Florence National Cemetery, 803 E National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC 29506.
