Ronald Lloyd Freeland went to be with our Lord on April 24, 2024. He was 74 years old. Born on July 10, 1949, in Salamanca, NY to Lloyd and Charlotte Freeland.
Ron graduated from West Virginia University in 1971with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. Ron resided in Ottsville, PA, where he retired from American Baptist Church USA as an accountant until he moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to retire and play golf. Anyone that knew Ron knew that his first love was golf. His laugh was infectious to the point where you stopped laughing at the joke and started laughing at his laugh. Ron also loved line dancing until the sun came up, reading about US history, and all genres of music. He had a witty sense of humor that everyone adored and showed strength in his life’s ups and downs. Ron had a heart of gold, was the rock for his family and loved his family with everything he had.
Ron is survived by his wife, Carole Zaraco-Freeland, who resides in Myrtle Beach. He also has two daughters, Nicole Brown and her husband Ronney Brown, residing in Summit Point, WV. Amanda Ruffino and her husband Frank Ruffino, residing in Kintnersville, PA. Ron also leaves behind 3 grandchildren. Zachary Dimmick of Summit Point, WV, Sophia and Liliana Ruffino of Kintnersville, PA. Ron is also survived by his brothers and sister, William Freeland of Havre de Grace, MD, Robert Freeland of Batavia, IL, David Freeland with his wife, Andrea Freeland of Myrtle Beach, and Carol Andrews of LaVale, MD, with her husband, Terry Andrews. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Charlotte Freeland.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society or Tidelands Hospice of Myrtle Beach, SC.
