Ronald Crooks Obituary

Ronald was a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany.  He returned to Kenmore NY, married Mary Gail Williamson, and they had two daughters.  He was employed by General Motors, working at the Chevy Tonawanda plant.  Ron and family lived in both North Tonawanda NY and Amherst NY, before he and Gail eventually retired to Myrtle Beach SC where they could enjoy golfing year-round in their retirement years.

Ron was an avid golfer, sneaking onto the public golf course across the street from his grandparents from an early age, playing in leagues in both New York and South Carolina, and ultimately amassing an impressive six Hole-in-One’s to his credit.

Never without a dog, most recently Winston the Corgi was his constant companion and a source of great entertainment for him.

Ron’s love for the Buffalo Bills was unmatched, but he also enjoyed watching the Buffalo Sabres (Hockey) as well as the Atlanta Braves (baseball).

His passion for the simple scratch-off lottery tickets was well-known, as was his avid interest in the stock market.  Well into his 80’s, he even learned to embrace new technology, teaching himself to day-trade stocks and manage that activity on his smartphone.

Ronald leaves behind his wife, Gail and their two daughters, Kimberly Crooks (Edward M. Bassett III) and Karen Sniadecki (James Sniadecki), as well as three grandchildren, Edward M. Bassett IV, Sophie & Scarlett Sniadecki.
