Roger Dale Prosser

Roger Dale Prosser, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday July 10, 2021 at his home in Georgetown, South Carolina. He was born on March 9, 1944 in Florence, South Carolina to the late Harvey L. Prosser & Rosa Lee Gray Prosser.

Along with his parents, Roger is reunited in passing with his sister, Janet Prosser Glass & his beloved k9 companion, Pepper.

Roger proudly served our country in the United States Army National Guard. Following his honorable discharge, he went on to own and operate P&P Logging Company. After over 45 years of dedicated service, Roger was able to retire. He loved being on the water and loved boat racing. Roger proudly sported #511, during his races and was also an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Above all else, Roger loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his larger than life personality, quick wit, love for his family and the peace he felt on the water.

Left to cherish Roger’s memory are his adoring wife of 55 years, Marie Jayroe Prosser of Georgetown; sister, Peggy Wayne and her husband Gary of Georgetown; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

The family will gather to greet friends on Wednesday July 14, 2021 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Pennyroyal Cemetery, 1640 Pennyroyal Rd., Georgetown, SC 29440 within the mausoleum. A service in celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 11:00AM and entombment will immediately follow.
