Rodney Paul Beam, 74, of Garden City, SC, passed away peacefully Monday July 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Mooresville, NC, Rodney was the son of the late Paul Beam and Mary Sigmon Beam.
Rodney was a firearm enthusiast and marksman. He enjoyed cooking, farming and computer technology. A proud Army National Guard Veteran, Rodney, loved God, his country and especially his family. He was a member of Right to Bear Arms, a Lifetime Member of the NRA and attended Low Country Community Church (LC3) in Murrells Inlet, SC and Garden City Baptist Church in Garden City, SC.
In addition to his parents, Rodney is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Edward Beam and his first wife, Darnell Beam.
Survivors include his loving wife, Irene Beam, Murrells Inlet, SC; son, Brian (Sunny) Beam and grandchildren, Ashton, Paul, Noah and Olivia Beam, FL; daughter, Kristie Long and granddaughter, Madeline Long, Eugene, OR; stepchildren and their families, Aubrey (Jenna) Turner, Seth, Simon (Amber), and Stella Turner, Kernersville, NC; Adam (Mandee) Mann, Joshua, Miles and Lucy Mann, Matthews, NC; Asheli (Eric) Thompson, Hannah (Brad) and Graham Allen, and Macy Thompson, Mooresville, NC; Liz (Bruce) Watson, Ayla Watson, Murrells Inlet, SC; sister-in-law Diane Beam and nephew Eddie (Jennifer) Beam and family, Mount Ulla, NC.
A Celebration of Rodney’s Life with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday July 12, 2026, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet, SC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
