Rodger G. Powell, age 76, passed away peacefully Monday September 25, 2023, at his Garden City, SC home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Augusta, GA, Rodger was the son of the late Artemus Rodger Powell, Jr., and Margaret Elizabeth Powell.  He was an avid University of Georgia fan who enjoyed cheering on the two-time National Champion Georgia Bulldog football team.

In addition to his parents, Rodger is preceded in death by his son, Rodger A. Powell and 7 siblings. 

Survivors include Rodger’s loving and devoted wife, Mary Jo Powell of Garden City, SC; daughter, Jennifer Smith and her husband, Jason of Grovetown, GA and 2 granddaughters, Hailey Smith, and Brittney Smith.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday October 7, 2023, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet, SC.
