Robert C. Hylton, Jr., 69, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday June 18, 2026, while at his home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on May 16, 1957 in Rocky Mount, Virginia to the late Robert C. Hylton, Sr., & Eunice Pauline Dowdy Hylton.
Along with his parents, Robbie is reunited in death with his brothers, Bruce Anthony Hylton & Steven D. Hylton.
Robbie is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Brittner Hylton of Murrells Inlet, SC; sons, Jonathan Hylton and wife, Erika of Surfside Beach, SC, & Benjamin Hylton and wife, Juni of Myrtle Beach, SC; a stepson, Anthony Marracino of Murrells Inlet, SC; and two grandchildren, Valentina Hylton and Eli Arante-Hylton. Robbie is also survived by members of the Hylton family of Figsboro, Virginia; the Dowdy family of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and the Warren and Faw families of South Carolina, as well as a large and loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
Robbie was a member of Collinsville Church of the Brethren and was active for many years as a Boy Scout leader- a role he greatly enjoyed. He was also proud to be a member of Bassett Moose Lodge No. 383. Robbie had a passion for working on automobiles and took great pride in fixing cars and collecting tools. He also enjoyed hosting cookouts for his friends and family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, willingness to help others, and the love he shared with family and friends.
A celebration of Robbie’s life will be held at a later date and those details will be announced when finalized.
