Robert Tucker, Jr. Obituary

Robert Blythe Tucker Jr., 64, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026. He was born on January 22, 1962, in Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Brentwood, Tennessee. He was the son of Patricia Joe Tucker and the late Robert B. Tucker, Sr.

Robert pursued his undergraduate studies at Washington and Lee University, where he completed a double major in mathematics and science. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine and later completed a fellowship in medical imaging at the College of Medicine at the University of Florida.

A dedicated physician, Robert practiced medicine as a radiologist beginning in 1992 and remained devoted to his profession throughout his career. At the time of his passing, he was serving with VetMed Group, where he continued to provide care and support to veterans and their families. He was also a member of the American Board of Radiology and a member of Mensa.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, Robert found his greatest joy in the outdoors and in spending time with those he loved. He enjoyed sailing, hiking, running, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, walking along the beach, and embracing the natural world. Whether on the water, on a trail, or beside the ocean, Robert found peace and happiness outdoors. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his children and family.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Tucker of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; his children, Mackenzie Tucker of Midlothian, Virginia, Anna Tucker of Brooklyn, New York, and Michael Tucker of Charlottesville, Virginia; his mother, Patricia Tucker of Tullahoma, Tennessee; and his siblings, Lisa Swicegood of Nolensville, Tennessee, Julia Ozburn of Nolensville, Tennessee, and James Tucker of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Tucker Sr.

Robert will be remembered for his dedication to medicine, his love of the outdoors, his commitment to serving others, and the deep love he had for his family. His kindness, intelligence, and adventurous spirit touched the lives of many and will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A private service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Robert’s memory be honored by spending time outdoors, supporting veterans and their families, or simply sharing meaningful moments with loved ones—the things that brought him the greatest joy in life.
