Robert Owen Ellendorf

Robert Owen Ellendorf, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday January 28, 2019 at National Healthcare Center in Garden City, South Carolina. He was born on September 29, 1946 in New York City, New York to the late Robert Ellendorf & Constance Abbott Ellendorf.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, Bob was able to retire after being awarded the designation of Vice President at Merrill Lynch where he performed as a skilled computer programmer for many years. In his free time, Bob loved bowling with his wife and family and playing rock and roll music really loud. He was an active parishioner at St. Michael Catholic Church. Above all else, Bob loved his family.

Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife of 42 years, Mrs. Martha Buynak Ellendorf of Murrells Inlet; their children, Robbie Ellendorf of FL, Eric Ellendorf of NY, & Jennifer Ellendorf of Murrells Inlet; grandson, Austin Bennett Paul; granddaughter, Ella Brook Paul; his brother, Michael Ellendorf and his wife, Cynthia, of NY; niece, Colleen Ellendrof; sister, Patricia Ellendorf and her partner, Diane Smiles of FL; as well as many, loving and supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 572 Cypress Ave. Garden, City, SC on Friday February 1, 2019 at 10:00AM. The family will greet friends at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 on Thursday January 31, 2019 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM with a prayer service at 5:30PM.

At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name in lieu of flowers to the National Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor New York, NY 10001.
