Richard “Dick” Austin Langeloh, 76, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, August 03, 2025, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Born on September 20, 1948, in Port Chester, New York, to the late John and Eleanor Langeloh. Dick was a spirited and determined individual who carved his own path in life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Dick is predeceased by his loving parents; and two siblings, Eric Langeloh and Diane Langeloh. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Colleen Langeloh, of Murrells Inlet, SC; two sons, Trevor Langeloh and his wife, Emilie of Manhattan, NY, and Peter Langeloh of South Salem, NY; three grandchildren, Zoe, Ruby, Gavin; siblings, John Langeloh and wife, Mary Jane of CA, Barbara Butler and husband, Kevin of Marthas Vineyard, MA, and Kathy Reeves and husband, Frank of Ridgefield, CT; as well as a sister-in-law, Gail Langeloh of Rye, NY.
Dick loved being a teacher and thought of himself as a difference maker. He loved inspiring our youth to reach their goals in life. He carried this trait outside the classroom as well. Dick was an avid golfer, and just loved sports in general, especially his Giants and Yankees. He was very proud to say he was from Rye, New York. When he wasn’t on the golf course, you would find him on the beach, his “happy place.” Dick had a gift of making everyone feel like family. He constantly made it a point to check in on people and was always a source of positivity.
