Richard Ray Scott passed away on September 4, 2021 at the age of 72 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. His laughter and kind heart will be greatly missed.
Richard was born on July 30, 1949 in Ravenna, Ohio to Warren and Genevieve (Patchin) Scott. After serving in the U.S. Army for six years, with most of that time in the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged and lived in Germany before returning to Northeastern Ohio. Throughout the years, he remained a loyal Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed classic muscle cars.
Richard is survived by his loving daughter Michelle Scott and grandson Kingston of Myrtle Beach; son Brian (Christina) Scott and grandchildren Ian, Alayna, and Evelyn of Stow, Ohio; sisters Joyce (Paul) Hahn and Polly (John) Cain; brothers Bill Scott and Tom (Heather) Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Previously departed loved ones include his parents and brother, Wilbert Scott.
Services will be held at a later date in Ohio.
