Richard Mac Ewan Obituary

Richard William MacEwan, age 82, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, formerly of Fairport, New York, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026.

Born on September 24, 1943, in Wellsville, New York, Richard was the son of the late William and Lucille MacEwan. Richard was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julie A. Zoli. He lived a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his community, and a strong work ethic.

Richard proudly served for six years in the Army Reserves. He spent many years working at Gleason Works in Rochester, New York, before dedicating 34 years of service to Xerox Corporation in Webster, New York.

Richard found great joy in bowling and golf and was passionate about mentoring young people. He generously volunteered his time coaching Little League baseball and junior boys’ bowling, leaving a lasting impression on the many children and families he supported throughout the years.

Above all, Richard cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara MacEwan of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; his beloved son, Scott MacEwan of Charlotte, North Carolina; his beloved grandchildren, Ariel Bright and Jackson Bright of Penfield, New York, and Ashlyn Zoli of Penfield, New York; his sister, Mary Lou Plummer of Belmont, New York; and his brother-in-law, John Plummer.

The family extends special thanks to Agape Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Richard’s final days.

Richard will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with family and friends. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
