In Loving Memory of
Brigadier General Richard A. Eason
Richard A. Eason was born on April 28, 1939, and grew up in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. The values he learned there—hard work, humility, service, and love of family—remained the foundation of his life.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army, where decades of distinguished service led him to the rank of Brigadier General. A graduate of the U.S. Army War College, he earned the admiration of those who served beside him through his integrity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to others.
Beyond his military career, Richard was a respected businessman and entrepreneur. He was the original Captain Dick of Captain Dick's Marina and chartered the New Inlet Princess, creating memories for countless visitors along the South Carolina coast. He also founded Environmental Service Group and Enviroscan, businesses that continue today under the leadership of his son, Rick.
Those who knew Richard best remember not only the uniform he wore or the businesses he built, but the husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend he was. He loved his family deeply, treasured time with them, and had a special bond with his faithful dog, Zack.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his sister, Brenda; his nieces, Regina, Monica, and Pam; his nephew, Trey; his children, Angela and Rick; his grandchildren, Sydney, Rick, and Kaylie; and his great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ryann. His love and guidance will remain with them always.
Richard passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. His legacy is one of honorable service, entrepreneurial spirit, steadfast leadership, and unconditional love for his family. He leaves behind a life that made a lasting difference in his community, his country, and the hearts of everyone who knew him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
