Richard Baxter Obituary

Richard Wells Baxter, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday December 17, 2018 at Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina. He was born on November 5, 1931 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Charles Baxter & Emma Staltiman Baxter.

Along with his parents, Dick is reunited in death with his sister, Doris Jackson & his brother, Robert Baxter.

Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Dick went on to become a teacher and eventually retired as a school principal from the Stanton, Virginia school system. An avid outdoorsman, Dick loved to golf, ski, go boating and was a fantastic tennis instructor. Dick’s true passion in life was his family and his dogs.

Left to cherish Dick’s memory are his niece, Janet Brower of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina & his great-niece, Hope Nelson and her husband, Scott of Surfside Beach, South Carolina.

A Celebration of Dick’s life will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

At the request of the family, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Dick’s name to the Grand Strand Golden Retrievers Foundation, P.O. Box 463 Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
