Rev. Timothy Hugh McKenzie, age 68 of Deerfield Plantation passed away, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center following complications from Covid-19.
Born May 23, 1952 in Kingstree, SC, he was the son of the late Rev. David A. McKenzie, Sr. and Erleen Fenters McKenzie. Tim had been a Pastor in several churches in the area for the past 47 years. His greatest love was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his church. Tim had a heart for the all his churches he has served. He also loved to fish, hunt, enjoy food and fellowship with others and mostly spend time with his family. His son Brent preceded him in death just recently from Covid-19.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Debi McKenzie of Myrtle Beach; two sons, TJ McKenzie of Myrtle Beach and Todd McKenzie of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren, Alexander, Isabella (Bradley) Hooks, Hanna (Dawson) Richardson, Rebecca, Reese and Ryleigh; great grandchildren, Daniel Brent, Colton Hugh & Carson Grace; daughters in love, Jessie McKenzie of Aynor, Kristen McMasters of Greensboro and Michelle McKenzie of Andrews; brothers, Julius McKenzie of Kingstree and David McKenzie, Jr. of Aynor; mother-in-law, Mae H. Stovall of Siler City, NC; and God-sister, Tammy Litchfield of Moncks Corner, SC.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Seaside Community Church, 10125 Hwy 17 Bypass, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 with Pastor David Godby, Rev. Terry Fowler and Pastor Wilbur Davis officiating. The viewing will be held one hour prior to service time from 1:00-2:00 at the church. A graveside service will follow at Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church Cemetery, 3051 SC-319, Aynor, SC 29511. Prior to the visitation the church will have bag lunches available from 11:30am-12:30pm.
