Rachel Ruth (Hall) Lane

Rachel Ruth Hall Lane 91, of Murrells Inlet SC and formerly of Greensboro, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday October 3, 2025, at Embrace Hospice House.

Rachel Ruth Hall Lane was born on April 24, 1934, in Greensboro, NC to the Late Charles Hobart Hall and Ollie Mae Short Hall. She is also preceded in passing by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Lane and her siblings Helen Hall, Bernice Fisher, Julius Hall, Charles Hall Jr., Ruby Talton, Marie Harder, and Frances Yates.

Left to cherish Rachel’s memory are her son, Derek K. Lane (Janice) of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Melodye Lane-Laveglia (Dan) of Surfside Beach, SC; son, Chris H. Lane (Adrianne) of Ash, NC; grandchildren, Devin Lane (Amanda), Charlie Lane (Sabrina), and Jordan Lane (Jessica); great grandchildren, Joseph Camp, Griffin Lane, Barrett Lane, Lily Belle Lane, Cameron Lane, Kenzie Evens, and Madelyn Evans. Rachel will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Rachel loved all animals, especially her most recent dog, Sophie. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling, many different restaurants, and winning at bingo and other games. Rachel truly treasured spending time with her family and loved socializing with her neighbors who became precious friends. Most of all, Rachel led a God centered life.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 16, 2025, at 1:00pm at Burroughs Funeral Home 3558 Old Kings Highway Murrells Inlet, 29576, with Memorial Service to follow at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you to consider a donation in Rachel’s name to South Strand Helping Hand, 812 Poplar Drive, Surfside Beach, SC 29575.

A special thank you to Embrace Hospice House and Rachel’s friend, Michelle Crawford, who lovingly cared for her and spent endless hours being beaten at Uno.
