R:.W:. Albert E. Mealey, Jr.

R:. W.: Albert E. Mealey, Jr., 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 16, 2020 at Compass Acute Rehabilitation in Conway, South Carolina. He was born on November 15, 1933 in Corona, New York to the late Albert E. Mealey, Sr. & Thelma (McNutt) Mealey.

Along with his parents, Al is reunited in death with his beloved wife, Ms. Edna Mealey and his sister, Pricilla Clauser.

Al proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Al was able to enjoy the finer things in life. While in Rockland County, Al was very active within his Masonic Lodge. He was a proud brother and past Master within the Athelstane Lodge No. 839 F & AM as well as the Naurashank Lodge #589 F. & A.M. He also held the title of Grand Sword Bearer of the Grand Lodge of NY from 1994 through 1996. In his free time, Al loved to sing, barbeque and entertain friends. Al also enjoyed his medium French vanilla swirl iced coffee (cream, no sugar,) from Dunkin Donuts; and making memories with his loved ones. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Al’s memory are his children, Steven Mealey (Beth) of Sebastian, FL, Karen Babcock (William) of Goshen, NY, Karen Paul (Dave) of Fort Montgomery, NY, Mary Cavanagh of Myrtle Beach, Sharon Kalber of Airmont, NY, Howard Cavanagh (Andrea) of Highland Falls, NY & Diane Pinero (Victor) of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Steven, Billy, Kristi, Daniel, David, Jennifer, Danielle, Christopher, Theresa, Michael, Kimberly, & Julianna; great-grandchildren-  Parker, Anderson, Jackson, & Jaiden; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, family as well as those who had a special place in Al’s heart, Debbie Cavanagh,  Barbara Cavanagh and Caroline Valentine aka Sneider.

A Celebration of Al’s life will be held in New York at a later date.
