Peter Poyatt

Peter Poyatt, age 73, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, and formerly of New Jersey, passed away on May 26, 2026.

Born on September 13, 1952, in Camden, New Jersey, Peter was the son of the late John J. Poyatt and Mary Cornwell Poyatt. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Poyatt.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Poyatt of Surfside Beach, SC; his son, Ernie Raeuber and wife Michelle of Cherry Hill, NJ; his daughters, Chrissie Ann Bell and husband Nathaniel of Arlington, VA, and Eileen Lindline and husband Timothy of Rehoboth Beach, DE. He was a proud grandfather to Ethan Raeuber, Brendan Raeuber, Charlotte Bell, and John Bell.

He is also survived by his brothers, John Poyatt and wife Susan of Cherry Hill, NJ; Michael Poyatt and wife Judy of Damascus, MD; and Christopher Poyatt and wife Margaret of Haddonfield, NJ, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on June 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 236 E. Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ 08052.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Building Fund, 542 Cypress Avenue, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576, or Convention of States https://conventionofstates.com/ or Tunnel to Towers (T2T) https://t2t.org/ or a favorite charity of one's choice.

A livestream of the Mass will be available beginning at 10:55 a.m. prior to the service.

Peter will be remembered for his love of family, his enduring faith, and the many lives he touched throughout his years. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
