Pauline "Polly" Braun

It is with the utmost sorrow and sadness to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Pauline (Polly) Braun, age 95, on May 30, 2022 in the care of her son and daughter-in-law at Inlet Coastal Assisted Living in Murrells Inlet, SC. Before moving to South Carolina three years ago to be with her son, Polly was a longtime resident of Hanover, PA. Polly was born March 7, 1927 in Shade Gap, PA., the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Lillian (Mentzer) Naugle.

Polly was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Broadway in Hanover, National AARP, Hershey Hill’s Homemakers and a volunteer at Hanover Hospital after her retirement from Doubleday and company in 1987. Her favorite hobbies were antique hunting with her husband, Roy, doing crossword puzzles, knitting, reading and baking.

Polly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy C. Braun, who passed away in 2008, one sister(Verna Horne) of Huntingdon, PA and five brothers (Donald, Melvin, Gerald, Pierce and Guy Naugle) all of central Pennsylvania.

She is survived by three children, Rodney Naugle of Murrells Inlet, SC, David Naugle of Hanover and Sherie LaSala of Mesa, AZ, and one brother, Dr. Floyd P. Naugle of Harbor, OR. In addition to her children and brother, Polly is survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

At the convenience of the family, a private celebration of life service will be planned for her friends and family through the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church followed by burial at Rest Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Pauline are preferred to be made to the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1240 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331.
