Pauline Marcoux, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina on Monday May 18, 2026 with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 5, 1949 in the Bronx, New York to the late Joseph & Rose Marie Monforte Cicala.
Along with her parents, Paula is reunited in passing with her brother, Louis Cicala; and twin sister, Patricia Cicala.
Paula was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold and a zest for life. She worked as a bookkeeper for several medical publishing offices where she made life-long friends. During her working years, and while Clay was chief of the River Edge Fire Department, Paula held the position of President of the Women's Auxiliary. In her free time and especially later in life, Paula enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, playing games on her phone and had an affinity for casino trips. When traveling got harder, Paula and her husband could be found at the Surfside Beach Lodge 2351 of the Loyal Order of Moose, where they earned the rank of Lifetime Members for their dedication to the Lodge and to her community. Above all else, Paula truly loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Paula’s memory are her adoring husband of over 57 years, Mr. Clayton F. Marcoux of Murrells Inlet and formerly of River Edge, NJ; their daughter, Maria Pomerantz husband, David of River Edge, New Jersey; the apple of her eye, her grandchildren, Christian & Jessica; sister, Mary Saunders and husband Daniel of Waldwick, NJ; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Paula’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
At the request of the family, please consider memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. Donations in Paula’s name may be made to the Moose Charities.
