Patricia Mary Gauthier, 82, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday April 13, 2026. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on October 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Roselma and Virgil Provencal. Though she most recently called Myrtle Beach home, she spent many meaningful years in Manchester, Connecticut.
Patricia's professional journey was marked by intelligence and dedication. She began her career at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., before moving into the financial sector. She first worked at Home Bank and Trust in Cheshire, Connecticut, followed by a significant tenure as Assistant Vice President (AVP) at Dime Savings Bank in Wallingford, Connecticut. She later continued her career with New Britain Savings Bank and eventually retired from Guilford Savings Bank.
Beyond her professional life, Patricia lived with a spirit of creativity and lifelong curiosity. She was an avid gardener, a talented quilter, and found great joy and peace in reading. Her social spirit shone through her love for games; whether it was Mahjong, Bunco, or any card game, Patricia was always ready for a friendly competition with friends.
Some of Patricia's happiest moments were spent at the family lake house. She cherished the time spent there surrounded by family, hosting countless parties and holidays. These gatherings were the heart of her world, filled with laughter and the company of those she loved most.
Her commitment to service was evident in her many memberships. Patricia was a member of the National Honor Society and shared her love for the outdoors as a Co-leader for the Girl Scouts of America in Wallingford, Connecticut. She was active in both the Cheshire and Prestwick Garden Clubs. Her faith and fellowship were central to her life, as seen through her dedicated involvement with the Ladies Guild at the Church of the Epiphany and the Our Lady of Fatima Ladies Guild. She is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond Gauthier of Myrtle Beach. Her legacy lives on through her children: her son Eric Gauthier and his wife Karen of Sun Lakes, Arizona; and her daughter Michelle Keithline and her husband Frank of Scituate, Massachusetts.
Patricia was the proud grandmother of Daniel Gauthier and his wife Briana, Jonathan Gauthier, Christopher Keithline, Samantha Mott and her husband Tyler. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Nora and Wyatt Gauthier.
Patricia was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Provencal. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Joanne Provencal of Washington Township, New Jersey.
She also leaves behind her brothers, Thomas Provencal and his wife Marilyn of Inverness, Florida, Donald Provencal and his wife Cathy of Cromwell, Connecticut, along with a large extended family of cherished in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Patricia’s Life will be held on Thursday May 21, 2026 at 12PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The family will gather to greet friends from 11am until the time of service.
