Otha (Moe) Morris Horne, 77, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 25, 2025. Born on December 11, 1947, in Monroe, NC, he was the son of the late Norris Roberts Blair Horne and Mary Evelyn Simpson Horne.
Moe proudly served his country as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, a career he dedicated his life to with honor, courage, and loyalty. Over the years, he received numerous medals and commendations, and carried himself with the same strength, pride, and devotion to service that defined his career. Even in retirement, he remained a Marine at heart.
In addition to his parents, Moe was preceded in death by his beloved twin brother, Norris Horne.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of twenty-one years, Jeanne L. Horne of Myrtle Beach, SC; two loving daughters, Sarina Cameron of Temecula, CA, and Brittany England of Eugene, OR; two sisters, Tina Brakefield of Cherryville, NC, and Mary Ann Walker and her husband, Martin, of Bessemer City, NC; and three grandchildren, Michael Cameron, Alyssa Cameron, and Ridley England, who were the light of his life and brought him endless joy.
Beyond his service, Moe will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He had a generous heart, a quick wit, and a smile that could light up any room. He enjoyed time with family, sharing stories of his years in the Marines, and the simple pleasures of life by the beach. To those who knew him, he was a rock—steadfast, loyal, and full of love.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
